Easily made reliable fuse

Recently I have been experimenting with ways to make reliable fuses easily. I have come up with a process that seems to work and would like to share it and ask for feedback (sorry if someone already uses this method, I think it is original but someone is bound to have done it). To make it you need milled black powder (I use 3% dextrin), water, and a string or yarn. I start by adding water to the black powder to create a thick liquid with a pasty consistency. Then I just soak the yarn in it and hang it tightly to dry. It burns consistently and at a good speed. Thanks

Yup, that's how black match is made.

Someone on here had a really cool simple blackmatch setup. Coke bottle with a plastic pen tip glued into the center of the cap. Run yarn from above down through the coke bottle and through the cap/pen tip. Fill the bottle with slurry, and pull the yarn through.

The slurry gets pressed into the yarn as it's pulled through the pen cap, in addition to the pressure from the bottle full of slurry... It can then be straight wound around a drying frame. Very simple setup.

I am actually working on another blackmatch machine. I have one that uses 14 threads, but am designing a better one. I think I have figured out a way to create blackmatch with a solid core of thick slurry surrounded by around 16 threads. (Not sure exactly how many threads will be needed.) If it works, I will be able to create "coatable" blackmatch which can be waterproofed with NC Lac.

I would make a Visco machine if I had a working wood lathe...
