A bad situation turned good

I'm working on a time-critical formulation for a binder for a new product.

 

DBY, I ordered a quart of propylene glycol to use as a plasticizer in a project. Amazon had a great deal on it, so I ordered a quart to try it.

 

It came today, in a bottle clearly labeled VEGETABLE GLYCERINE, then with a small Amazon stock label stuck over the bar-code saying "propylene glycol". So... I tasted it, felt of it, and even tried some of it. It was too sweet, and too sticky to be propylene glycol, and it did not plasticize the resin I was working with.

 

So instead of contacting Amazon, I contacted the vendor: "Bluewater Chemical Group". Most of their products go to 'VAPE-ers' and companies making vaping products. But of course, they get other users, as well.

 

Instead of the usual two to three days' response time, I got a reply back in three hours saying that Amazon had done that, now, twice, and that they were UPS'ing me a quart of the authentic glycol, and that I could keep the wrong product, in case I had a need for it.

 

Now... Amazon's goof aside, that's excellent service. When anyone gives me that kind of help, I tell others. Of course, when they DON'T, I tell ten times as many people! <grin>
