I'm looking for a dry lubricant for spindles, but chemistry concerns me

I guess I just have one simple question: What kind of lubricants are recommended?

I found some with teflon, and a little voice in my head says "Check the chemistry first!", so I'm asking you :)

I don't plan to make anything other than BP- and Whistle-rockets.

I just rub the spindle down with paraffin wax. I had been using auto wax but it was more work with no difference in performance.

I melt 3 parts Vaseline with 1 part paraffin wax, and it becomes a solid that is easier to wipe on evenly. It's a minor point though. Plain wax works fine too. I feel the same about using a spray as I do about using a spray underarm deodorant. Only a small portion remains on the target! Cough, cough....

On brass spindles, I really don't get a different release but I do get signs on inhibited cores with wax. I prefer to leave it dry and well polished. I do have a lathe so running it up to 3600RPM and hitting it with Mothers sure shines them up nicely.
