Bensmith Posted January 18, 2017 Share Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) An ideal tool to produce thousands of identically sized stars very quickly, FireSmith star plates are CAD designed and CNC machined from 6061 aluminum billet and are designed for years of use. Each plate is chemically blackened and surface hardened. This treatment creates an incredibly tough surface that holds up exceeding well. It is much more durable than bare aluminum and is insanely resistant to scratching, galling and abrasion. Plus, the surface is "slippery", releases comp easier than bare aluminum and is also quicker to clean. Each hole plate features important information permanently engraved into the surface. Star plate size, pin count and total surface area is easily visible. The pin plates are also receiving the same treatment. The logo is permanently engraved and serves a practical purpose as well. The circles are machined into the exact center of the plate. This creates a "bullseye" to help ensure that pressing forces are directed to the center of the plates, virtually eliminating damage and binding caused by pressing a star plate off center. Even the spacer bars are hardened and engraved with product information.
