Paradise Posted December 22, 2016 Share Posted December 22, 2016 Awhile back I ordered a few different sizes of magnesium. I've also read that magnesium can be used in comps containing parlon. I'm not ready for using comps containing AP therefore no need for k dichromate I've gathered. I have done some searching but I was wondering if anyone could suggest any magnesium parlon comps suitable for the novice (me!) that may be unique in any way shape or form. Most are better than me regarding seemingly simple to use tools as what you generously suggested to me. Thank you just the same. I'll keep fiddling with it. It looks like most of them are copys from Fireworking.com Most formula that spec magnesium fueled stars, usually also spec PVC as the chlorine donner and secondary fuel. Also remember that magnesium fueled stars should not be water bound. If the magnesium has not been treated. Its not just AP that you have to look out for. Paradise Posted December 24, 2016 Author Share Posted December 24, 2016 Granular magnesium 120-200 mesh and atomized magnesium -325 mesh. I don't have pvc yet as I thought parlon was the same thing. Are there comps where the mg does not need to be treated? Otherwise linseed oil would work in anything but comps containing AP if I've got my notes correct. Parlon and Mg/Al are more prevalent in modern-ish formulas than Mg and PVC. Blesser has some colored stars, that use magnesium and a blend of parlon with pvc. Dynomike, in the link you posted for Weingart magnesium am I correct to assume the mg is treated? Is that why many of the formulas out there do not clarify because it is implied?
