How much BP is needed for a 3lb standard BP coreburner rocket?

Please give me some numbers. I know this depends on a lot of factors, charcoal type, pressure ect.

What does your notebooks say?

How much fuel can you approximately press into a standart 3lb BP motor?

How much more for nozzleless?

Tough question to answer! According to my notes, my last #3, nozzleless, Universal Hybrid, all BP motor (2012) was 158g of fuel. That sounds right because I recall only getting three motors from a pound of BP.

Using a standard BP tool set, I bet its closer to 200g.

So about 200g.

Is that nozzleless?

I just need a strong engine for my projekts, and since here in europe perchlorate is beginning to get rare I have to get power from BP alone. Thus I need big motors. This will eat up a lot nitrate though.

My traditional 3# BP rockets took 109 g. of BP propellant (Your Milage May Vary). I haven't made end-burn three pounders yet (unless you count whistle rockets, but I use 1/2 length tubes for them [5" long, same ID and OD])

I see your numbers vary a lot.

Dagabu, is that nozzleless too?

Compared to WSMs statement of 109g its a huge difference

ddewees:

how much nozzle material is in there and whats the tubes weight? About 80-100g i guess?
