But since they don't specify what pyrogen it is, you simply have no idea. Makes it troublesome the day someone from the customs office wants you to prove that you don't need a permit, but also, since there is no labeling stating the nature of the e-match, it also means the customs office are unlikely to start asking questions. Anyway, i don't really know why some e-matches really are exempted from permit requierments, while others aren't. My basic understanding is that it comes down to the pyrogen, and nothing else.B! And if someone tells our politicans what really goes in to, and how sensitive they are, they will start requiring a permit for strike any-where's to.B! Arthur Posted June 1, 2016 Share Posted June 1, 2016 http://www.oda-ent.com/Electric%20Match%20Heads.htm I've used these, they are the same as Chinese igniter chips without the pyrogen, they have the same bridgewire as professional igniters so they fire at 500ma for 20mSec which is the same as pro igniters. Without the pyrogen they are legal to ship by post and air. The issue with the made Chinese igniters is that they are usually entering your country without the correct paperwork and also the internal use of the postal system is very naughty. If the package comes from China the IMPORTER is responsible for the package, it's permits and paperwork. ODA's method for making pyrogen is good, just that the separate components need to pass 200 mesh and you need to mill chlorate so maybe a cheap mortar and pestle is appropriate (you can't easily count the number you can make from a teaspoonful of comp!) Just a few observations though, none of them that I have ordered had what they are on the label. When they do get found out in shipping most companies will just reship them. Be careful what you order because the cheapest ones usually come without the shroud.
