Been busy the last few weeks, gathering all the chems I will need for a few months. Got a sack (25 Kg's) of Kno3 for 2 €/kg, thats as cheap as I could find around here and I've been rolling stars like a mad-man for the last couple of nights. Anyway, I'm trying to get my wood-lathe up and running so I can start making formers for italian-shell casings as a little sideproject that doesn't involve burning stuff up, or so I tell my girlfriend atleast. The main reason for the lathe is to make graphite nozzles for high-power rockets. I am in a very busy period of my life at this time, never thought that this "hobby" would be so time-consuming. I have been keeping things on hold for some time and haven't had much time to invest in pyro since I now have 2 jobs to support my 2 children (number 3 is on the way) and 2 houses, 3 cats and 1 dog. :o

Anyway ranting aside, I am currently working on a few projects which I will update here when I have time, one is a high-power rocket. A few formulas for matrix-comets, stars and such are hopefully on the way and the biggest project of my life so far: ++++++++

Started a new interest since I moved near a lake, I've started sports-fishing so now I'm trying to find someone with a boat to become friends with. :D

Its good to see you getting back into the hobby and good to hear that you and your kids are doing ok. High powered rocketry? what happened to the days of throwing homemade NG based dynamite sticks? lol

We are kindred spirits... too many interests! ^_^ I know if I start messing with HP rocketry, I'd have yet another hobby to add to the list, and I just can't do that. Not enough $$ and not enough time. Two Euro's a Kilo for KNO3 is better that what I paid for my last large shipment. I just wish perchlorate was as reasonable.

Oh yeah, a buddy with a boat is the way to go... think long and hard before you buy a boat! They are well-known money pits! One good option is one of those really small composite boats with an electric trolling motor. Those seem to be a good deal, if all you want to do is fish - easy to transport, easy to launch. Anything bigger, though, watch out!

Good to see another blogger, BTW. I look forward to more.

Well, reading about your struggles on your blog was a reminder about my effort to get a hold of magnesium for magnalium-making. I contacted a place specialized in working with magnesium and asked them if I could get some shavings, I told them it was for pyro and everything seemed ok. The guy offered me 5 kilos of magnesium-turnings and bits for the whopping price of 12 euros (for shipping). I asked if I should pay money-order or send them a pre-stamped package. After that I didn't hear anything for a while, I wrote back but I didn't get any reply.
